Rabbi Mayer Neuberger, Rosh Hayeshiva

Rabbi Mayer Neuberger, a native of Baltimore, Md, studied in Mechina High School of NIRC, Yeshiva of Philadelphia, Yeshivas Mir (Jerusalem) and Beis Medrash Govoha (Lakewood), where he received semicha. Rabbi Neuberger came to Atlanta in 1997 to join the Atlanta Scholars Kollel and has served as Rosh Yeshiva of Ohr Yisrael since the yeshiva’s founding in 2001. He is married to Rivka Neuberger (nee Hopfer) who currently works as an anesthetist at Grady Hospital. They have four children.
Rabbi Avrohom Tkatch, Menahel

Rabbi Avrohom Tkatch grew up in Overland Park, Kansas and attended the Yeshiva of South Bend, Yeshivas Mir (Jerusalem) and Beis Medrash Govoha (Lakewood), where he received semicha. Rabbi Tkatch joined the outreach Kollel in Bensalem, PA then moved to South Bend, IN in 2004 where he served as Menahel and 12th grade Rebbe for 11 years at the Yeshiva of South Bend. Rabbi Tkatch came to Yeshiva Ohr Yisrael at the beginning of the 2016-2017 school year.
Mr. Wayne Dennis, General Studies Principal

Mr. Wayne Dennis grew up in Trenton, New Jersey. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Marketing from Montclair State University. He earned a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from The College of New Jersey. Mr. Dennis started his career teaching in the Trenton Public School system and has been working as a teacher and administrator for over 20 years. Mr. Dennis joined the Yeshiva Ohr Yisrael Administration in 2018. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, sports, and reading and spending time with his five children.

Mrs. Beruriah Sawyer, CFO
​
Mrs. Beruriah Sawyer is a native Atlantan. She attended Georgia Institute of Technology where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics with a minor in Developmental Psychology. Post graduation, in order to further her career, Mrs. Sawyer studied business systems management, labor law, and computer applications at Florida International University. After working for several years as a computer systems analyst designing programs for financial systems, Mrs. Sawyer decided to stay at home with her growing family. While at home, she worked as the office administrator of a self-owned manufacturer’s representative company and homeschooled until her children entered the day school system in Atlanta. She worked temporarily as bookkeeper for the Yeshiva in its second year, 2003, and was later hired as office manager in the Fall of 2004.
